Don and Shannon founded Mountain Fellowship Camp in 2012 and have remained unwavering supporters ever since. While Don manages a business in Louisiana, Shannon dedicates her time to their church and serves as a board member alongside Don. They both treasure spending time with their grandchildren, cherishing those special moments while skillfully balancing their commitments to the Camp and their community.
Mountain Fellowship Camp is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization operated by a dedicated board of members comprised of Founders Don and Shannon Anderson, Scott Jarrard, Joey Swanson, and Misty Boggs.
My life has been far from perfect, but the grace and mercy of God have shown me that He can and will use anyone for His glory. I became the Pastor of Harmony Grove Baptist Church in Blairsville in April 2014 after seven years of serving as the Youth Pastor. After many years of prayer and waiting on God, Jennifer (my wife) and I were blessed with our twin sons. My favorite thing to do is spend time with my wife and my boys. Next to Jesus and my salvation, they are truly the best things that have ever happened to me.
After my family, my greatest passion is discipleship. I love to see people awaken to God's love for them and help them see their value in and for His Kingdom. I hope this is a journey that you will allow us to walk with you. Just a side note: I'm proof that if God can use me, He can use anyone! Blessings.
A true pillar of the Blairsville community, Joey is dedicated to helping others as a Woodmen Life representative. Joey is a proud graduate of Union County High School and Brenau University, and he has been an integral part of Mountain Fellowship Camp. Alongside his wife, Adina, Joey cherishes the moments spent with family and friends.
Tim and Lisa Dempsey have been camp directors since 2020. Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, they have been married since 1999 and have four children. Travis was born in 1999 and lives in Jacksonville, FL; Lilli was born in 2007; Michael was born in 2009; and little Taylor Passed away at 5 years old in 2006.
Tim and Lisa have served at their church in Jacksonville in many different areas. Tim was a Deacon, on the Stewardship committee, and chair of the Trustee committee for many years. Lisa hosted many luncheons for the church and was chair of the School Missions Team for almost 10 years, all while being active leaders in the youth ministry. The Dempsey family is passionate about furthering God's Kingdom and excited to see what the Lord has in store for the camp's future and the city of Suches.
Darrell brings extensive experience in various construction fields, having owned his own company that handled projects ranging from remodeling to automotive work. His broad knowledge across multiple disciplines makes him a valuable asset. Misty works part-time as a bookkeeper at their church and currently serves as a board member at the camp, where she graciously manages the camp's books too.
